This Italian looks nothing special from the outside, nor indeed does the inside look anything outstanding. What makes this restaurant special is the staff. Family run for years, the staff are friendly and helpful Italians who make any visit a memorable evening. Such a change from the corporate-owned manager-run large chains.

Not just pizzas at this Italian, there's plenty of fish too, and some steak dishes, e.g. steak and peppercorn sauce £11.50 including seasonal vegetables. Other main courses include fillet of trout with herbs at £9.90 and the ubiquitous Quattro Stagioni pizza at £7.50. Starters include soups and delicious deep fried whitebait at £4.50. There are two specials boards - one for starters, one for mains. The ice cream deserts perhaps slightly disappoint especially after the excellent main courses. This small restaurant is lit with candles and soft music adds to the atmosphere. Wine available from around £10 per bottle. Around 40 covers. You should expect to pay around £20-25 per person for a 3-course meal with drinks. Note that a service charge of 10% applies, though as this well run restaurant it does not feel outrageous.
