Lovely location near Holyport village pond, although unfortunately the M4 runs very close to this village. Outside the pub looks great, there is a garden area next to the pond and a small airy conservatory. Inside however it is a little dark. Good food - some very tasty Belgian ice cream. No music, no pool table, no gambling machine, the pub really isn't big enough for these things. Some very low beams in places. This pub falls into to the 'OK' category because it lacks that special something. Brakspear brewery. Used to be called The Eagle. It changed its name during World War II and took its new name from the place where most of the fighting was going on at the time.
